For my first blog I want to start with some controversy. What does the cross really stand for. Is it idol worship to have crosses in the church.
My feeling is that it can be. To me the cross is no different then the golden calf to the jews. You see one common misconception of that incident is that the jews were praying to a false god. On the contrary, they were worshiping G-d through the calf just as many christians do through the cross. An orthodox jew once said if Yeshua had died by the electric chair or a machette, would we have that hanging behind the pastor and in our homes. Just think about that next time you go to the alter and worship at the cross.
